Amazon.com Product Description From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army Knife a century ago comes the Swiss Army One-Hand Trekker pocketknife, a compact set of tools for campers, hikers, boy scouts, and just about everyone else. Measuring 4-3/8 inches long, this version of the One-Hand Trekker is stylishly cased in a black housing with the familiar Victorinox logo on the side. More importantly, the unit contains several handy Swiss Army tools, including a serrated locking blade that opens and closes easily, a bottle opener with a large locking screwdriver and wire stripper, a can opener with a small screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, a toothpick, tweezers, a reamer, a wood saw, and a key ring. As with all Victorinox items, the One-Hand Trekker is made to exacting standards, with dozens of steps going into its construction. Victorinox attends to every detail, from selecting the finest materials to performing the final inspection. In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. The One-Hand Trekker carries a lifetime warranty. About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Great January 24, 2010 MammonLord (California, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As with every Victorinox product I've tried, this pocket knife is well made and I fully expect it to stand the test of time. The unit is larger (and heavier) than I expected but it's still small enough to fit in a pocket.
The "NS" in the product name means this is the Non-Serrated version which is much easier to sharpen and, in my opinion, more useful.
The one thing that would have made this pocked knife perfect is scissors. Otherwise it's great and extremely handy. I was surprised at how often it's more convenient to open the blade with one hand. Having used this knife, I don't think I'd be able to go back to a pocket knife that requires two hands.
Solid Knife October 23, 2009 Krosme (Florida) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pros:
I have been carrying Victorinox knives for over 30 years and have never been disappointed in one of their products. This knife is no exception. It is well built and very solid. I like the new locking mechanism that not only locks the blade but also the screwdriver and I have found the new casing design curves well for a comfortable fit in your hand. I find the blade is easy to open with your thumb and is well balanced once fully opened.
Cons:
Some might find it a bit large for everyday carry; I was going to use this knife to replace my Victorinox explorer but it is a bit large to carry in a front pocket. I adapted and now carry it in my back pocket, which leads to my only other issue; it should have come with a mounted clip. In my opinion that one option would have made this the perfect knife.
Swiss Army Knife - excellent design September 22, 2009 Joseph M. Zias 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This new design has many of the features I wanted,
including a locking knife blade that is not serated. The saw is especially useful. The only tool I might also like is sissors, however I have been impressed with Swiss Army Knife sissors on other units.
Excellent knife, but just slightly too big for pocket September 9, 2009 Jason D. Young (Mount Vernon, IL United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Let me start off by saying that I really like this knife. It is so handy to have a knife with so many different features built in for whatever situation arises. It is very high quality (well built) and feels good in hand. My ONLY complaint is that it is just a little bit too big to be comfortable in the front pocket of my jeans/pants. That is the tradeoff for the large blades and multitude of features. It is a great knife to throw in a backpack for camping/hiking. I will carry it on me if I am wearing pants that have a cargo pocket or when wearing "carpenter jeans" that have an extra slender pocket on the right leg. They make a belt sheath that fits these, but if I am going to carry something on my belt it would be my leatherman wave instead. Hard to beat this knife for the price, I highly recommend it.
This is one sweet knife August 13, 2009 D. Dwyer (Oregon) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just got back from a river trip with seven other guys. I loaned this knife to about four of them at some point in the trip, and everyone saw it and thought it was sweet. It's really sharp and a nice size to carry.
