| Customer Reviews: A great Swiss and a locking blade too!! August 28, 2010 Jaimie My daughter is going on a 3 week back county camping trip and one of the mandatory items was a knife with a locking blade and a can opener. Sounds easy, right? Well it's not! We finally found this knife but couldn't find it at a local retailer to try it in person(we live in a large metropolis by the way), but since we needed it we went ahead and ordered it from Amazon sight unseen. We are VERY happy with it. The locking mechanism is easy to use but not easy to accidentally unlock, it's nice and light weight even thought it is a little on the long side from what I had hoped for and it very sharp. Did I mention that it's very sharp? I'm not kidding! Be careful when you open and close it the first few times so you don't accidentally nick yourself.
just right July 24, 2010 Nathan Smith (dalton, ga) this knife is not to small or to big. it has all the tools i want without any junk. the lock blade is something i really like.fit and finish is top rate. the price is great for a tool made in Switzerland.
Best General Purpose Lockblade Pocket Knife June 7, 2010 Bruce G. Farrar (Lynnwood, WA USA) I gave this knife to a young man who just turned 12 years and is ramping up his experiences in Boy Scouts of America. As one who owns 12 Victorinox Swiss Army knive and who has had one in his pocket since 1980, I know of their dependability and practicality.
This model is perfect for someone wanting the basic blades although it would have been nice to have the saw. Nevertheles, the blades offered are strong and the locking blade is tight and sure.
Too big for me, but it's nice. September 28, 2008 bigblank (brooklyn) I should have thought about the size of this knife before I bought it. The next size down would have been better. It's so large it'd be good for chopping a whole stew's worth of veggies.
Great, Simple Swiss Army Knife September 8, 2008 Off Belay (Rhinebeck, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like all Victorinox knives I have owned, this seems like a quality unit. Sharp blade, no wobbling or looseness in the components. I have several knives that I don't carry because they are loaded down with a bunch of bulky stuff that I rarely use. Thus knife is great in that it has just the stuff I really use. My personal preference would be that the knife was just a bit shorter, say 3" closed rater than 3 1/2" closed. Other than that, it's just about perfect.
