Still made in the village of Ibach, Switzerland, Swiss Army knives have been known for their quality and craftsmanship since they were first introduced over 100 years ago. The Hiker--one of the more basic models--is an essential tool for day hikes and backpacking trips. This 3-1/2-inch-long knife holds eight tools in its traditional, red plastic casing. They include: large and small knife blades; a can opener with 3mm screwdriver; a bottle cap lifter with 6mm screwdriver and a wire stripper; a wood saw, a reamer with sewing eye; a Phillips screwdriver; tweezers; and a key ring. All blades and tools are made of first-class, stainless steel. Tools are separated by rust-proof aluminum alloy, while durable brass rivets and bushings hold knife layers together. I'm a huge fan of the Swiss Army Knives. The multi-tools are tool large to carry in your pocket. These knives fit nicely in your pocket and always have something useful.

I bought this for my son as his first "big" Swiss Army knife. It provides enough useful tools for him to do small projects and have a pocket knife handy on a camping or fishing trip. I have had Swiss Army knives since I was a pre-teen myself and highly recommend any one of them.

This knife is awesome! Great toolbox in a easily pocketable configuration. The saw is simply the best on any multitool. The blades come sharp, are easily sharpened, and hold thier edge very well. This is a great whittlers knife; I use it around the farm too. Pair this SAK with a Victorinox Rambler and Leatherman Skeletool and you have a pocket toolbox that will tackle just about any job!

For years I carried a Classic SD knife until I "lost" it at the airport. I was looking for a replacement when I found the Classic SD bundled with this knife. Well, I lost the second Classic SD at the airport (slow learner), so now all I carry is this knife. It has come in handy for outdoor activities as well as household chores. I miss the scissors and nail cleaner, though, so now I am looking for another compact Swiss Army knife with those tools.
